This
cue has an unusual quality. Designed in traditional fashion with points, decorative rings
and inlaid geometric shapes, it does not strike one as a traditional design. Richard
achieved this paradoxical result by several means. The selection of similar grained
and colored woods, East Indian Rosewood and Walnut in the handle with ebony inlays, has
led to the subtlest of contrasts between patterns. The somber colors of the cue
create a toned-down and deeply mysterious effect. This is supported by the low-key
embellishments in silver and abalone. The Enigma |
