The Tempest is created from one of the finest pieces of Spalted Maple ever seen by the artist. The Ebony handle area is then inlaid with Ivory and those Ivory pieces are then inlaid again with Ebony. There are over 900 inlays in this cue and the center medallion of Ivory was the initial inlay and was inspired by the circular windows of Notre Dame.

The joint material (black) is Cape Buffalo Horn. The butt section is of the Spalted Maple and while the maker does not believe in using wood as a butt plate, this maple has been impregnated with an acrylic resin that stabilized and strengthens the otherwise weak area.

The custom cap protectors are also Spalted Maple and the butt cap is topped with another round inlaid medallion, while the custom shaft caps are topped with Ivory.

* The butt screw is steel and can be replaced with aluminum to effect a one ounce reduction in weight.
